Leaf Ties

{Update: I just got these in the mail and they are everything I could possibly want in a green plant leaf rip-tie. I’m thinking about getting another pack, maybe in the olive green…}

These are probably the cutest “how-do-I-organize-all-my-computer-wires-and-cables” ties I’ve seen! Very clever and more aesthetically appealing than say a normal rip-stop cord {or those weird according tubes}. Lufdesign, the Korea-based company that makes these leaf ties, just got more in stock so grab them up quick! {They come in six colors: emerald green, olive, espresso brown, scarlet, white reindeer, and kingfisher blue.}

Target Mobile

Husband showed me this article today and said my phone just made its money back.  Heck yes it did! {Note: I still loved my phone before this though}. Now I can sign up and redeem coupons at Target by using my phone — as if I needed any excuse at all to spend more time + moola at my Bulls-eye mecca.

Sign up for the program online {Target.com/mobile}, or by texting COUPONS to 827438 (TARGET).

and yes, this was important enough to mention, I feel cleaner already}

G1 Launch

After trying for hours on tmoblie.com {refresh, refresh, refresh}, Husband + I were finally able to register to get the new T-Mobile G1 Google phone! Yay!

Special Guest: My Husband

Instead of pretending that I know what I’m talking about, I’ve asked my husband to guest write this post about the new G1 phone! {Can’t wait to order ours this month!}

As frustratingly cute as the iPhone is, the G1 is better, and not just for developers like me, but for anyone who wants a smartphone that can actually hold its own at Smartphone University. The main reason is Android, an open-source {that means free and community driven} operating system for phones. The G1 is the first phone to have it, though more will follow, and they’ve already created apps that put the iPhone to shame. Here’s a sampling…

GoCart: This app will allow you to scan barcodes with your phone’s camera then scan the internet (and Google Maps) for the closest/cheapest prices for said product. They even have a video.

CompareEverywhere: just like GoCart but in color!!

CookingCapaules: Use your phone to cook dinner {without searching for the nearest Pizza Hut}

Commandro: Search for the nearest Pizza Hut.

… and many more.

These are just the apps that have appeared so far, before there’s a phone. For all of you who kept your iPhone fanaticism in check and refused Apple’s ridiculous contracts, your boat {in phone form} has finally come to port. For shame, iPhone, for shame…
