Indoor Party

I wish I thought of this festive Halloween spread for my quaint dinner “party” last week. {Note to self: mentally file this for next year.} The simplicity of sticking to just two color schemes {black + white} and the cluster of glass apothecary jars makes this set-up more visually appealing. {This also looks pretty do-able…}

Happy Weekend

Yes for the weekend! {I’m excited that the leaves are finally starting to change colors…}

The Weekend

Hope you have a relaxing weekend! I’m going to be stocking up on some pumpkins for decorations around the apartment, and maybe trying a new Fall-season recipe…

Eddie Ross

Reading Eddie’s blog is like reading a condensed decorating magazine — chock full of absolutely brilliant ideas, tips, photos, and inspiration {he is the senior style editor of Martha Stewart Living, and a Top Design contestant}. I’m grateful for all the knowledge he so willingly shares about entertaining, diy projects, and decorating; and all with a kind and very unassuming narrative.

Falling for Fall

These photos have an ephemeral nostalgia about them that gets me in the mood for the Autumn weather {and homemade apple desserts of course!}..

Hello October

Hard to believe it’s already here!

Pottery Barn Does Halloween

Since Halloween is the second most popular decorating holiday in the US, it’s no surprise stores like Pottery Barn {and Z Gallery} have now stocked their stores with traditional-themed, spooky wares. {At least, this is the first year I’ve noticed their rise in Halloween decor}. And I am impressed with Pottery Barn’s styling:

{Love the idea of putting color-coded candies in the apothecary jars!}

The Weekend

It’s almost October, so I’m posting this polaroid of cute, festive pumpkins. Which is an odd segue, so…Happy Weekend!

Haunted Mantles

Scouring flickr for some Halloween-esque mantlescape ideas {ha! and I don’t even have a fireplace!}, I came across some inspirational ideas:

I actually had a very similar tree-branch-in-vase look for last Halloween. {More on that later.}

I think Lorajean describes early holiday decoration best.
