Coco Cute Cakes

I’d quit my day job as assistant pencil-pusher if I could summen up baking power goodness à la Coco Cakes! These whimsical cakes + cupcakes are almost too cute to eat! {Almost…}

Hello Fall

It’s finally my favorite time of year! I covet everything the Fall season brings: weather, fashion, foods, colorful foliage… Sadly, central California has ephemeral autumns and toilsome summers. {Boo…}

I think my heart would melt if it looked like this outside my window right now:

Now this is what I call tailgating {Husband might disagree}:

Happy Memorial Day

MMmm! Wouldn’t these be great to make for the Memorial Day Weekend? {Like I need an excuse to eat cupcakes…}

Cinco de Mayo

MMMmm!! To celebrate Cinco de Mayo in my own gluttonous way, I will be making some really good homemade guacamole. {And what’s guacamole without homemade salsa? And some nice warm tortillas, and barbecued chicken with fresh-squeezed lime…!!} Here’s a great, delish guaco recipe.

Milk + Cookies

I would have never thought of hosting a Milk + Cookies themed baby shower. Wow, Brittany Gharring {her blog: Most Likely Late} is mad-talented. {Oh, and she’s only twenty…four.} I wish I knew how to plan cute + original parties like this! {Okay, parties in general.}

Lovely Macarons

For V-day, Husband surprised me with a large box of…Parisian macarons!! Mmm, apricot, raspberry, cinnamon {more like a custard}, chocolate, peanut butter, and pistachio! Oh, this was definitely a wonderful + tasty gift! {In the past tense, as in, there are no more left. Yes, we somehow managed to binge on 48 mini-macs in 3 days. Obviously we have no self-control. Or shame.} In order for them to arrive as fresh as possible, Husband overnighted them from L’Epicerie in Brooklyn, NY.

Light{er} Comfort Food

Reading Jordan’s post about homemade chili {okay, maybe just glancing at the photo she used} was enough to entice me to make it for dinner tonight. I found a “lighter” {goodbye gluttonous holiday season comfort foods!, for now} chili recipe online, via Martha.

Christmas Baking

It is on like donkey kong with baking this month! Homemade cut-out sugar cookies with red + green frosting; mint fudge with walnuts; peanut butter cookies; and gingerbread houses! {Okay, so we bought the gingerbread house kit…} Can’t wait! Now if only there were more hours in the day…

{Mmm…don’t these look scrumptious?}

Thanksgiving Leftovers

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Hope you all enjoy the holiday, spending time with family and eating delicious food. {Thanksgiving Day is a jewel, to set in the hearts of honest men; but be careful that you do not take the day, and leave out the gratitude. -E.P. Powell}

Here’s some T-Day leftover recipe ideas, a la Martha.

Thanksgiving Prep: PW Style

I can’t remember which blog first introduced me {months + months ago} to the magnificent cooking blog, The Pioneer Woman Cooks!, but I am forever grateful. And I love Ree’s {or as I like to call her, “PDub”} sense of humor + wit. As well as her very helpful, very plentiful use of photos {hey, part of cooking is visual, so I need/appreciate all the help I can get}. So who better, and perhaps more realistic {sorry Martha}, to refer to for Thanksgiving day meals and planning than her? {Okay, and maybe your mom.}

{This looks spectacular, and I don’t even like turkey!}
