Now Panic

A funny + more realistic response to the ubiquitous “Keep Calm and Carry On” posters, but via T-shirt format. {Unfortunately, this is more my type of mantra…}

Pop Culture Dress-Up

Why not dress up like Joan Holloway {via Mad Men} for Halloween? Body-hugging vintage dress + tasteful pumps + red lips + brooch + Sass = perfect ensemble. See other featured interpretations of current pop culture icons on the New York Times, here.

Kate Spade Fall

I’ve always loved the photography + imagery of Kate Spade’s printed ads; and her Fall campaign images {found on her facebook page no less!} are no different. Deep saturated photos of beautiful clothes + accessories:

{hello! teal tights!}

{I think I have a brooch like that…}

{Love the wide-open, wide-lapel collar! I also have a brooch just like this one…}

Buffalo Plaid

There’s something about red {buffalo} plaid that’s so quintessentially American. Love this red coat and blouse from Gap:

Reminds me of something Peggy O would wear {in a good way}:

Coffee + Cream

Mmm…love the black + cream/white combinations of these stylish city dwellers:

{Funny, this girl looks like a distant portrait of myself: long dark hair, black outfit, cardigan, big glasses, with chain necklaces; but minus the
double-C bag and the baditude}

{Wish I could pull off the pleated, cropped, skinny trouser look}

{Hope that’s a faux-fox stole…}

{Frumpy yet charming; nice leather doctor tote + bow tie}

Haute Costume

I haven’t dressed up for Halloween in years. The last time was when I was in college — I was Daria {actually I just wore non-prescription black-rimmed glasses a skirt and a black shirt and people just thought I was Daria.} But I would love to have one of these in my costume arsenal:

{Luella Bartley; Jaeger London; Alexander McQueen; Vivienne Westwood Red Label}

Style in the City

Wow, NYC is such a stylish + eclectic pool of fresh fashion {small understatement}. These girls dress so effortlessly and yet so put-together. They are more stylish than some of the concepts in my glossy mags!

{Great color palate + spot-on accessories.}

{Perfect fitting leather moto-jacket.}

{The red gingham shirt is so quintessentially American; nice high-waisted skirt.}

{Too Cool for School Club; casual yet polished.}

Stilletos in the Rain

It’s never crossed my mind to intentionally wear heels in the rain, but with the help of Swims City Slippers, that could all change. {Okay, maybe not, but they are inventive + stylish nonetheless.}

Mad Accessories

These native Indonesian-inspired necklaces are so crazy + beautiful! Great use of vivid colors + batik fabric.

Fall Beauty

Cooler weather calls for deep reds, smokey grays + browns, and some subtle shimmer {and don’t forget loads of moisturizer and lip balm}!

Some of my faves:

{butterLondon 3 Free nail polish, $12 ea}

{Nars Duo eye shadow, $32; Givenchy Prisme Again! eye shadow quartet, $50}

{Nars lipstick, $24; Sephora crystallized lipstick, $22}

{Prescriptives All-Over Color shimmer, $35; Benefit benetint stain, $28}
