Eternal Child

What a whirlwind holiday season! Still feeling a bit of a pre-Christmas-through-New Year {or just all of December} metaphoric hangover. It’s no wonder I completely missed these gems from Eternal Child’s autumn/winter 2008 collection. Onward and upward with grandma chic!

Jazzy Brogues

I think there might be some room left in my closet for these… {Husband might rightfully object}. Very 1930s jazz-era cool, and yet quasi wicked witch from the East. {I think I have a penchant for modern-grandma shoes.} But this dichotomy just makes these shoes more appealing to me… I think the 2-inch heel, color combo, and spectator details will win me over.

Alberta Ferretti usually has spot-on perfectly feminine + flowy pieces. Her Spring 2009 doesn’t really hit that mark {fringe everywhere!}, but I did enjoy some of her concepts, especially the baggy + bunchy tights! {Total grandma-chic, yes}.

Christopher Bailey’s collection for Burberry Prorsum was somber {British grays + khakis} but with wonderful flares of ruffles, paillettes, and clustered-artsy necklaces. {And keeping with my inner grandma-chicness, I also loved the men trouser socks worn with sandal platforms look, even though I could never pull this look off.}

Grandma Chic

Is it wrong that I like these shoes? I love the stability of the chunky-20s-kitten heel and the grey leather — I can picture wearing these with some black opaque tights and a wool skirt…but is this too grandma-school-marm-ish?
