Viola + Vocals

I’m pretty out of the hipster-loop, being the 8-5 penny pusher, no-longer 21 years-old self that I am. So I’m probably 2 years late for just now stumbling upon uber-talented vioalist + singer, Anni Rossi’s music. And wow {!} –  girl is talented. {It’s so refreshing to see a vocalist using a viola as the instrument-of-choice. But I’m partial to the viola: I’ve played it from 3rd grade through the end of high school; and the viola’s mid-tone sounds are often overlooked and never quite gets the same musical attention as say, the violin or cello. And yes, the viola is different than the violin.} Seeing this makes me want to play again…

Year of the Ox

Cute dragon craft from Martha. Too bad I didn’t realize Chinese New Year is…um, today. Still, this would be a fun craft for a child’s birthday party, or just fun in general.

Orla Kiely

Update: Is it just me, or are these pieces hard to find at your local Targets? Also, the items I did see were not as bright as the photos, and looked kind of drab. Kind of wish there was a third pattern…or a better color scheme? {Sorry, I tried to love it…just not feeling it though.}

Sorry for all the Target posts lately; what can I say? My wallet practically lives there. That’s what living in suburbia will do to you… And I’m sure most of you have already heard the good news about Target teaming up with graphic designer extraordinaire, Orla Kiely! {Yay!} Coming in February!

Can’t wait for these cuties:

Home Design Event

Looks like Target opted for a more subdued, scaled-down version of the “Global Bazaar” this year {perhaps due to the awesome economy} with their “Home Design Event.”  Which is actually more reminiscent of a pseudo eco chic West Elm {think muted colors, “natural” woods,  zen-spa feel}.

Some of my faves…

The Weekend

Hallelujah the weekend! And a three-day-er at that.  For the 85% of the country that’s suffering in the cold, stay warm!

Hayden-Harnett Bullseye

Has anyone had a chance to check out the new Hayden-Harnett accessories at Target? I already have about 16 umbrellas but this one has a vintage-looking steeple tip and curved handle! Naturally I need to acquire this one to my hoard.  Cannot wait to see this in person…and I might as well take a sneak peak at their handbags while I’m there too….

Mr. Picassohead

Can’t remember where I first saw this little Flash app, but it’s addicting. {Kind of like Line Rider}. You can make your own little Picasso-esque art using the provided shape and line templates and modifying the size, and color. It’s so easy you can’t go wrong {who could tell anyway? It’s Picasso, not Escher}!
