Gap Spring 09

Apparently, NY Fashion Week is no longer just for the big-whig designers. This past Monday, Gap debuted its spring 2009 collection. {Although, in his own right, Patrick Robinson is a big-whig.}

Loving the pastel + gray stripes paired with muted khaki neutrals.

Visual Rhapsody

Let’s talk about Marc Jacobs’ Spring 2009 RTW. Wow. Visually stimulating! Crazy? Overload? Seriously, he’s managed to combine several fashion elements: American prairie/frontier, grunge (á la his Perry Ellis days), Broadway costume… He’s incorporated bold amounts of metallic tweeds, plaid, patent leather, “ethnic” prints, espadrille/ballet pumps, stripes, chains, and straw hats! Oh my!

Gallery Wall

Can’t wait until I have a house of my own so that I can hang up framed photos and prints like this gallery wall. {View a lot more gallery wall inspiration here.}

Color Scheme

The Fall collection at JCrew is definitely about unexpected + bold colors. They really have amazing stylists.

EZ Blackboard

I saw these on elements of design this morning and just had to post about them, too! These removable chalkboard metal sheets are ingenious! They’d go great in an office, or on a kitchen wall.

Betty

Betty’s fashion blog is incredibly inspiring and she has a cute personality. {And there’s English translation!}

Headbands

These diaphanous headbands by ban.do reminded me of these {cheaper} ones from here.

  1. Silk Flower {purple}
  2. Silk Flower {pink}
  3. Lily + Feathers {white}
  4. Lily + Feathers {blue}

Eco Bags

Planning on buying some of these Eco-Bags reusable produce bags. Whenever I come home from grocery shopping I always end up with tons of those thin plastic bags {which I then recycle}. Not only can these Eco-bags hold fruits + veggies, but grains/rice as well. I already use the reusable shopping bags constantly,  so these bags are a natural next step.

I <3 Glasses

Even though I don’t technically need them, I absolutely love black-rimmed glasses. I used to wear a pair {non-prescription} during the first couple years of college. Aw, those were the geek chic days. {My friends and random people often called me Daria. I loved the show anyway, so it didn’t matter.} For several years now I’ve been on the hunt for a similar pair, but, sadly, no luck.
