Zooey D

I used to read NYLON religiously during my first years in college — it was “edgy” + “different”. There were no “how to impress your man while not using your brain” or “my mother was actually my sister: a true story” nonsense. But it became too pretentious for me, and so I stopped reading the glossy magazine. {I didn’t consider the constant artsy, clothes-less model-in-dusk-lit-brooklyn-abandoned-apt shots to be very “fashion-forward”. Sorry, rant officially over.} But this October I digress my magazine moral values for Zooey Deschanel! One of my favorite style muses!

The Weekend

It’s a miracle that the weather here has cooled off this early in the Fall “season” — this definitely makes for a more enjoyable weekend. Have a happy weekend!

Graphic Exchange

Emmanuel Polanco’s work is extraordinary! It’s definitely graphic design + collage work to the maxx.

Sassy Brits

Skirt + shoe combo perfection! {I’ve been on the hunt for some crazy, gladiator-ish, strappy sandal/pumps like this, or these, for awhile now, but minus the price tag and 4+ inch heel. Even though I don’t really need them…or have a legitimate place to wear them…and despite the fact that they might sabotage my feet. Still.}

More young, stylish Londoners during LFW.

Missed Target

I was excited when I heard that Thakoon would be the next designer for Target’s GO International line this winter. And I was also excited to hear that Kari Sigerson and Miranda Morrison {of Sigerson Morrison} had also partnered up with Target for a limited-edition footwear collection {because these ladies know how to do flats and kitten heels right!}. But sadly, I’m sort of only feeling for 1 out of the 19 pairs they plan to offer:

{Now I’m just hoping the Alexander McQueen + Target rumors come to fruition…}

London FW Round 2

Very colorful, beaded ethnic necklaces from Jaegar London. {Noticing a mini-trend with the black-piping…}

Cute frocks from Eley Kishimoto. The design duo had some wild tights!

And these pieces from Aquascutum, Christopher Kane, and Giles {resepectively} satisfy my inner goth — such wonderful dark textures and shapes!

Bucolic England

Would love to visit the British southwestern countryside of the Cotswolds. Simply dreamy…

London Fashion Week

Luella Bartley’s collection put a smile on my face. Loved the ruffles, circus stripes, floral prints and contrasting black piping. It looked like a brilliant mix between Parisian glam and girly-punk.

I think the Parisian-esque theme was also carried out in some of Alice Temperley’s collection — with the cloche hats, black-piping detail, and ruffles. And I loved Todd Lynn’s graded, scalloped-tiered cocktail dress; very film noir.

Some Girls Wander Back

Oh, I’m so happy! After a summer-long hiatus, Emily from Inside a Black Apple, has brought back her Some Girls Wander blog! I love the colorful outfits she wears.
