Milan FW Round 3

A nice abundance of ruffles + pleats from Rosella Jardini’s Moschino spring line:

Blumarine pairs hints of coral red + seafoam green with covetworthy coral belts:

Muted browns and yellows from Bottega Veneta:

An eyeful of shimmery + sequined fabrics with bedazzling + layered necklaces from Aquilano.Rimondi:

Something Blue

Wonderful, Fall-ready outfit from Ms. Betty. Her blue shoes create a cute + playful surprise {and of course, I love the black + grey ensemble}.

Jazzy Brogues

I think there might be some room left in my closet for these… {Husband might rightfully object}. Very 1930s jazz-era cool, and yet quasi wicked witch from the East. {I think I have a penchant for modern-grandma shoes.} But this dichotomy just makes these shoes more appealing to me… I think the 2-inch heel, color combo, and spectator details will win me over.

Milan FW Round 2

Alberta Ferretti usually has spot-on perfectly feminine + flowy pieces. Her Spring 2009 doesn’t really hit that mark {fringe everywhere!}, but I did enjoy some of her concepts, especially the baggy + bunchy tights! {Total grandma-chic, yes}.

Christopher Bailey’s collection for Burberry Prorsum was somber {British grays + khakis} but with wonderful flares of ruffles, paillettes, and clustered-artsy necklaces. {And keeping with my inner grandma-chicness, I also loved the men trouser socks worn with sandal platforms look, even though I could never pull this look off.}

Rainbow Clutch

This is such a fabulous velvet clutch! It would definitely go with any outfit!

Message in a…Jar

I don’t have any children, yet, but I thought this idea from Brooke Reynold was so sweet. Sometimes I can’t remember the funny things my husband, or my family say, and this would be a great way to document those absurd comments + dialogue! Just use a piece of scrap paper, {anything nearby: receipt, post-it}, and jot down the funny moment, fold it, and place it in a jar. Simple enough.

Fall Candles

Today is the first “official” day of Autumn! The smell of pumpkin-spice candles always remind me of this season. I usually get mine from Target, but this year I might venture out a little and check these cute candles from B+BW.

Haunted Mantles

Scouring flickr for some Halloween-esque mantlescape ideas {ha! and I don’t even have a fireplace!}, I came across some inspirational ideas:

I actually had a very similar tree-branch-in-vase look for last Halloween. {More on that later.}

I think Lorajean describes early holiday decoration best.
